  1. We're down to the last two launches of the space shuttle program, and your last chance to see one of the greatest man-made spectacles of all time.

Discovery is already finished with its service, and headed later in the year to the Smithsonian in Washington. That leaves Endeavour, slated to launch from Kennedy Space Center on Friday , April 29 at 3:47 p.m. on STS-134 on a 14-day mission to the International Space Station. It's scheduled to land back at KSC on 9:28 a.m. on Friday, May 13. When it lands, Endeavour has been promised to the California Science Center in Los Angeles.

The final mission of the shuttle program with space shuttle Atlantis on STS-135, slated for 3:14 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28 for a 12-day mission to the ISS and scheduled to land on Sunday, July 10 at 11:18 a.m. Atlantis has been promised to spend its retirement not too far from where she's spent most of her career -- the Kennedy Space Center Visitors Complex.

Endeavour's mission features a six-member crew led by Mark Kelly. Kelly's wife, Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, was the victim of a mass-shooting in Arizona in January that killed six people. She has received doctor's clearance to view the launch and will be attendance.

So as far as watching the launches, the last ones will be media circuses and the crowds should be incredible, so if you're a space enthusiast, you may want to make plans now for where you're going to stay.

If you do plan on watching the shuttle launch or land for that matter, be sure to check nasa.gov for updates for changes to the schedule.

  3. Today let’s look at some reason for using a clear tote:

    Theme Park

    * Theme Park – Help make the entry into the park go much smother. While others are having to empty their bags onto the table a quick glance by the security guard and you are off to a great day of fun and entertainment.

Beach* Beach - Hitting the beach  with a clear tote keeps everything visible. So if you need the sun screen, there it is without digging through the whole tote.  If you are carrying a larger tote, like the Zip-to-the Beach found at ClearSafetyBags.com you have a convenient place to put those wet suits and towels at the end of the day.

    Work Place

    * Place of employment – If you have to  routinely undergo security checkpoints to enter you place of employment why not consider a clear tote to help make the experience quicker and easier.

Airport*Airport Travel -  As you plan what you will carry on the plane with you, plan to place it all in a clear

together carry on so you can go through the inspection easily and conveniently.

  4. Boasting a CLEAR design that allows all your belongings to be seen easily.

Clear backpack from Olivet® featuring Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Kyle Busch, Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Ideal for schools that only allow clear backpacks.  They also aid in getting through security checkpoints

Each backpack includes a spacious main compartment, a zippered front pocket, and two side pockets.

  5. 3-1-1 for carry-ons = 3 ounce bottle or less (by volume) ; 1 quart-sized, clear, plastic, zip-top bag; 1 bag per passenger placed in screening bin. One-quart bag per person limits the total liquid volume each traveler can bring. 3 oz. container size is a security measure.

Consolidate bottles into one bag and X-ray separately to speed screening.

Be prepared. Each time TSA searches a carry-on it slows down the line. Practicing 3-1-1 will ensure a faster and easier checkpoint experience.

3-1-1 is for short trips. If in doubt, put your liquids in checked luggage.

Declare larger liquids. Medications, baby formula and food, breast milk, and juice are allowed in reasonable quantities exceeding three ounces and are not required to be in the zip-top bag. Declare these items for inspection at the checkpoint.

Come early and be patient. Heavy travel volumes and the enhanced security process may mean longer lines at security checkpoints.

TSA working with our partners. TSA works with airlines and airports to anticipate peak traffic and be ready for the traveling public.
